OWN DOMAIN

Your agent website on your own domain

Already own a domain like janedoe.com? Connect it to your Trulisted agent website from Settings. You add the records we show where you bought the domain, and Trulisted checks them, sets up a secure https address and moves your website and listing websites onto it.

What changes when your domain is live

Your marketing points to one address you own:

  • Your agent website, neighbourhood pages and team page open at your domain
  • Your listing websites open there too, like www.janedoe.com/l/123-maple-crescent-surrey
  • janedoe.com and www.janedoe.com both work, and one sends visitors to the other
  • Search engines and link previews use your domain as the main address
  • Your yourname.trulisted.com address and printed QR codes keep working

How to connect a domain you already own

Sign in to the company where you bought the domain and open its DNS settings (sometimes called “DNS records” or “Manage DNS”). Add each record Trulisted shows, exactly as shown: an A record for janedoe.com and a CNAME record for www. If there's already an A or CNAME record with the same name, edit or delete it. If the domain was used on another website before, you may also be asked for a TXT record that proves it's yours.

Then press Check on the Domain tab. The status shows each step: waiting for the records, setting up the secure certificate, and Live.

Your email and your other records stay as they are

Connecting your website only changes the website records. Leave your MX records alone and your email on the domain keeps working. Other records, like the ones your email provider asked you to add, aren't touched either.

Which plans include your own domain

Your own domain comes with the agent website on Starter, Pro and the Group plan. It stays connected while your website is on and your plan is paid. If your plan ends or you turn the website off, the domain is disconnected, and it connects again when your website is back on a paid plan. A domain that isn't set up within 14 days is removed so no one can hold a domain they don't control. You can add it again at any time.

// HOW IT WORKS

Step by step

  1. 01

    Buy a domain

    Any domain company works, such as GoDaddy, Namecheap or Squarespace. Trulisted doesn't sell domains.

  2. 02

    Enter it in Trulisted

    Open Settings → Website → Domain and type janedoe.com or www.janedoe.com. We connect both.

  3. 03

    Add the records

    Copy the records we show into your domain company's DNS settings, then press Check.

  4. 04

    Go live

    It depends on your domain company: DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to spread. Secure https is set up for you once the records are found.

// COMPLIANCE

Built to help you follow the rules

Your brokerage name, photo labels and the originals link stay on every page, whatever the address. A domain goes live only once it points to Trulisted and the secure certificate is issued, and a domain already used elsewhere on our host needs an ownership record first. Contact forms on your domain keep the same consent boxes and spam check.

// FAQ

Own domain: questions agents ask

Can I use my own domain for my real estate website?

Yes, on Starter, Pro and the Group plan. Connect it in Settings → Website → Domain, add the records Trulisted shows where you bought the domain, and press Check.

Does Trulisted sell domains?

No. Buy one from any domain company, such as GoDaddy, Namecheap, Squarespace or Cloudflare. The domain stays yours, in your own account.

How long does it take to connect a domain?

It depends on your domain company: DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to spread. Secure https is set up for you once the records are found.

Will connecting my domain affect my email?

No, as long as you leave your MX (mail) records as they are. You only add or change the website records Trulisted shows.

Can I use a subdomain like homes.janedoe.com?

Yes. Any name you control works. For a subdomain you add one CNAME record.

What happens to my yourname.trulisted.com address?

It keeps working, so old links and QR codes still open your site. Search engines are told your own domain is the main address.
