ORIGINAL PHOTOS PAGE

The original photos, one scan away

When you use a staged, twilight, Blue sky or decluttered photo, buyers can see the real one. Trulisted publishes each listing's unaltered originals on a public page, beside the edited versions, and links it from every label, flyer, email, reel and post.

What California's AB 723 requires

Since January 1, 2026, California's AB 723 requires licensees who use a digitally altered image in listing marketing to include a disclosure and a link, URL or QR code to the unaltered original. Ordinary edits like lighting, colour, cropping and straightening generally don't count.

Trulisted is built to add both parts to every listing with an edited photo, wherever you are, so you don't have to remember which listings need it. You still review each piece before you use it.

What buyers see on the page

The page is simple on purpose. Photos that were only brightened, colour-corrected or straightened aren't listed, since nothing in them changed.

  • The listing address, and the agent and brokerage
  • A plain note that some photos were virtually edited
  • Each edited photo beside its original, marked “Original” and “As advertised” with its label, such as “Virtually staged”
  • A “What changed” line for each photo, such as virtual staging or items removed
  • The date the disclosure was published

Linked from every piece of marketing

A disclosure only works if people can find it. The burned-in label on every edited photo shows a short link to the page. Flyers, emails and reels add a QR code and a disclosure line or frame, and social captions end with the link. Once your listing website is published, it shows the originals on the same page, and QR codes point there.

Original photos you can prove

Every photo you upload is stored unchanged, with a digital fingerprint (a SHA-256 hash). If anyone questions a photo later, you can show exactly what the original looked like. The Original Photos page is kept out of search results, so it never competes with your listing website, but anyone with the link or QR code can open it. Deleting a listing removes its Original Photos page too.

// COMPLIANCE

Built to help you follow the rules

This page is built to provide the link to the unaltered original that California's AB 723 asks for, and it supports BCFSA's advice to label altered photos. Every edited photo is paired with its original, and only edits that change the scene are listed. Originals are stored unchanged with a SHA-256 fingerprint. // FAQ

Original Photos page: questions agents ask

What is an Original Photos page?

A public page for each listing that shows every edited photo next to its unaltered original. Trulisted makes it automatically and links it from labels, flyers, emails, reels and posts.

Does AB 723 apply outside California?

AB 723 is California law. But BCFSA advises labelling altered photos, many MLS® boards ask for the original next to an edited photo, and showing the original is good practice everywhere.

Which photos appear on the page?

Only photos that were changed: staged, twilight, Blue sky, decluttered or with items removed. Photos that were only brightened or straightened aren't listed.

Will the page show up in Google?

No. It's kept out of search results, but anyone with the link or QR code can open it.

Is the Original Photos page free?

Yes. It's part of every plan, including your free first listing.
