COMPLIANCE AND DISCLOSURE

What does California's AB 723 require for listing photos?

Since January 1, 2026, California's AB 723 requires licensees who use a digitally altered image in listing marketing to include a disclosure and a link or QR code to the unaltered original.

An altered image is one changed with editing software or AI to add, remove or change elements, such as furniture. Ordinary edits like lighting, white balance, sharpening, cropping and straightening generally don't count.

Trulisted is built to add both parts for you. Every altered photo carries a label, the originals are published on an Original Photos page, and the flyer, email, reel, posts and listing website link to them. In California, your DRE licence number always shows on your marketing too.

This is a summary, not legal advice. Check with your managing broker.
