COMPLIANCE AND DISCLOSURE

Is virtual staging legal in BC?

Yes, virtual staging is allowed in British Columbia, as long as the photo is clearly disclosed and doesn't mislead buyers. BC's Real Estate Services Rules prohibit misleading advertising, and BCFSA advises labelling altered or AI-enhanced photos.

Trulisted helps with this:

  • every staged, twilight, Blue sky or decluttered photo gets a label burned into the image
  • the unaltered originals are published on an Original Photos page, linked by URL and QR code
  • an AI honesty review holds back results that change walls, windows, floors, fixtures or views
  • your full brokerage name and Personal Real Estate Corporation wording appear on every ad

Check your MLS® board's rules and your brokerage's policies too. Trulisted is a tool, not legal advice.
